Force Motors has added new variants to the Force One SUV.

A new base variant called EX has been introduced. It is powered by a 2596cc direct injection intercooled turbo diesel engine which also does duty on the Gurkha 4X4 SUV and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. However, this motor is only BS III compliant and comes with only 2WD. The Force One EX is targeted towards the fleet and taxi market and comes with basic features such as a power steering, front fog lamps, A/C and central locking and steel wheels.

The soon-to-be launched 4WD model is called the LX and comes with all features available in the previous top-end 2WD trim such as daytime running lamps, rear parking sensors, wing mirrors with integrated turn indicators, 16-inch alloys with all terrain tyres, 2DIN audio system with Bluetooth and steering mounted controls, leather seats, ABS and EBD, remote keyless entry and cruise control and shift-on-the fly 4WD system with a limited slip differential. Prices for the 4WD LX variant have not been released yet.

The 2WD variant is now known as the SX and comes with all the features of the 4WD model except the shift-on-the fly 4WD system and the limited slip differential. The SX and the LX trims come with a Mercedes-Benz-sourced 2.2-litre, OM611 common-rail engine that meets BS IV emissions norms and makes a Tata Safari-rivalling 139bhp and 32.6kgm of torque. It drives the rear wheels via the Mercedes-Benz G32 five-speed manual gearbox.
