Toyota Innova Facelift Launch On 5th October
You read it first on MotorBeam. Toyota is all set to launch the facelifted version of the Innova in the Indian market on the 5th of October (soft launch). After launching the updated version in Indonesia, the Japanese automaker is prepared to bring the same changes in the Indian market as well. We had already revealed the price list of the upcoming offering few days back, which will come with a total of 10 variants including 7 diesel trims and 3 petrol trims. The updated Innova will be launched with an additional range topping Z variant, which will only come with a diesel engine option and 7-seat layout.
The 2014 Toyota Innova comes with cosmetic upgrades that looks more like an aftermarket job and doesn’t blend well with the design of the full grown MPV. The new Innova gets added with truck loads of chrome to woo Indian buyers. The front end reveals an over-sized grille finished with thick slats of chrome and a redesigned bumper. The rear profile also boasts of a new wide chrome garnish with integrated reflectors, rest of the body remains as it is. On the inside, there are no significant changes apart from a revised multimedia system.
There are simply no mechanical changes on the Innova facelift, which means you get the same 2.5-litre diesel engine that churns out 101 BHP of power with 200 Nm of torque. The 2.0-litre petrol engine also gets carried over that produces 130 BHP of power with 181 Nm of torque. The 2014 Toyota Innova will be launched in India with a starting price of Rs. 10,89,364/- for the base diesel and Rs. 10,20,345/- for the base petrol variant. Only the GX and VX diesel variants will see a marginal price hike with the updated Innova as Toyota only recently hiked prices of the MPV. The top-end Innova Z costs a whooping Rs. 18 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai).
